The other day my daughter came down with strep. I was feeling a
bit of a sore/scratchy throat myself, so I thought I’d wander into the
doctors office and get checked just in case.

I walk in, write down my name, they say “come on back”. No
wait. Then they take a throat culture and do their lab work on
it. A few minutes later the lab tech comes back and says “no
strep; still wanna see the doctor?” I figure I may as well, since
I’m here. About two minutes later there he is; he makes me go
“ahhhh” while he shoves a stick down my throat. He says “you
should be fine, but here’s a prescription just in case”. He
writes out a prescription and I walk out of the doctors office.

What – no co-pay? No lab bill? No waiting? Wow. Why can’t all doctor visits be this nice?
