Googolplex [Permalink]
Just how big is a googolplex? The other day my son Alex asked my wife what the biggest number was. Wisely, she said there is no biggest number, but that the biggest number we have a name for is "googolplex". Impressive. But now for the last week he's been on a quest to find out how big this number is.
"are there a googolplex lines on our floor", "are there a googolplex holes in the ceiling", etc.. He's even started writing down numbers on paper. "Is this a googolplex?". So i figured I'd search the internet and figure out the answer. After all, _I_ had no idea how big a googolplex actually was.
After several pages of misinformation and guesses by uninformed computer geeks i found several sites that agreed on the same answer. If you are curious, here is a list of a few pages:
Ask Dr. Math
The Googolplex Page
Enjoy!
